Columbia Pictures has tapped Steven Knight (DIRTY PRETTY THINGS) to adapt the third book in the DA VINCI CODE series, THE LOST SYMBOL, reports VARIETY. The Dan Brown book follows Robert Langdon as he decodes symbols of the Freemasons.

No official word has Tom Hanks returning as Langdon, but he is likely to come back. Whether Ron Howard will direct the third installment is unknown. Imagine Ent.'s Brian Grazer and John Calley will be back to produce.
