Right on the heels of ABC announcing its own BEAUTY AND THE BEAST series, The CW has announced the development of a new version of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, based on the 1980s series starring Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton, writes The Hollywood Reporter. CBS Television Studios is producing. Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper (BROTHERS AND SISTERS) will write and exec produce. Paul Witt, C. Anthony Thomas, Ron Koslow and Bill Haber are also exec producing.
