While he's still attached to helm Relativity Media's troubled THE CROW remake, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is in final talks to direct Summit Ent.’s HIGHLANDER reboot, reports Deadline.com. The original film followed the centuries old battle between immortals to kill off the other immortals leaving one super powered immortal left.

Art Marcum and Matt Holloway penned the screenplay. Neal H. Mortiz and Peter Davis are the producers alongside exec producers RCR Media Group’s Rui Costa Reis and Eliad Josephson, and Justin Lin, who was attached to direct at one point.

Fresnadillo's lastest film THE INTRUDERS debuted at the Toronto Film Festival.
