CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON has found a new director in Carl Eric Rinsch, THE LOS ANGELES TIMES reports.

The script for the project was written by Gary Ross, but Universal is reportedly starting over in the story stage after years of delay.

Breck Eisner, who was originally tapped to direct the film, has moved on to THE BROOD.
