Classic Media Appoints New Licensing VP

Classic Media, an Entertainment Rights group company, today announced the appointment of Karyn Schneider to the position of VP, Licensing for its operations in North America, effective immediately. Based at the company's headquarters in New York, the position reports to Nicole Blake, SVP, Marketing.

Schneider brings more than 15 years experience in sales and brand licensing to the company, where she will oversee consumer products for the combined Classic Media/Entertainment Rights portfolio of family entertainment brands, including WHERE'S WALDO?, CASPER THE FRIENDLY GHOST, GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE, GUMBY and others. Charged with building out the New York-based team, Schneider will also support existing relationships with licensees including Brainytoys Limited, Galison/Mudpuppy Press, Briarpatch Inc., American Greetings, Fortune Fashions Inc., Logotel, MJC Products and Dark Horse.

Prior to joining the company, Schneider was the Executive Director of Licensing for United Media. In addition to expanding the business into new categories and securing partnerships with new licensees, Schneider developed and launched PEANUTS' new brand extensions Vintage Peanuts and Retro Peanuts. Previously she held various roles in licensing and sales at Kids Headquarters, a division of Wear Me Apparel Corp.; PCA Apparel Industries and Fairchild Publications.
