Tom Cruise told EMPIRE that Brad Bird would direct MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE IV. Producers Cruise and J.J. Abrams, the director of the third installment, narrowed their search down to either SHAUN OF THE DEAD's Edgar Wright or Bird and finally went with the IRON GIANT creator. The Paramount production will hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2011.
