Hollywood Elsewhere reports from director/writer Tony Gilroy about some details regarding THE BOURNE LEGACY. The title of the film is being taken from the Robert Ludlum book, but not the plot. Gilroy has written an original story, which uses the events of the BOURNE series to launch a new story with new characters. Matt Damon nor his character Jason Bourne will be in the film. The film's purpose is to expand the conspiracy to a wider canvas and serve as a thank you to fans that have been paying attention.
