Yesterday, WGA West’s Animation Writers Caucus awarded Emmy-winning writer Stan Berkowitz with its 12th annual Animation Writing Award, reports VARIETY. The award recognizes not only his work in animation, but also his service to the Caucus.

He's won daytime Emmys for his work on BATMAN BEYOND and THE NEW BATMAN/SUPERMAN ADVENTURES, in addition to seven other daytime and primetime nominations. His other credits include LEGION OF SUPER HEROES, TRANSFORMERS: ANIMATED, SUPERMAN, SPIDER-MAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE, BEN 10 and FRIENDS AND HEROES.

Previous winners of the award include Brad Bird, Al Jean, Jules Feiffer, Alan Burnett, Paul Dini, Michael Reiss and Linda Woolverton.
