Timur Bekmambetov has purchased the spec zombie script MAGGIE, reports Deadline.com. John Scott 3, whose day job is programming NASA satellite guidance systems, penned the script, which puts a twist on the typical zombie tale. Maggie is a 16-year-old who gets infected by the zombie virus, which takes six months to gestate.

Titles designer Henry Hobson (SHERLOCK HOLMES) is set to direct with Bekmambetov and Trevor Kaufman producing.
