Warren Beatty has won his suit against Tribune Media Services regarding the rights to DICK TRACY, writes The Hollywood Reporter. In 2008, Tribune Media tried to regain its control over the film and TV rights to the character from the actor who produced the 1990 hit film version. Beatty claimed that he wrote to the company on November 8, 2008 that he had begun principal photography on a TV special, which under his 1985 contact kept his rights in tact due to him producing a project based on the character. U.S. District judge Dean D. Pregerson agreed with Beatty's claim.
