Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot have tapped JD Payne and Patrick McKay (GOLIATH) to adapt Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett's graphic novel BOILERPLATE: HISTORY’S MECHANICAL MARVEL, reports Deadline.com. The story follows a 19th century built robot meant to replace men in battle. Boilerplate finds itself featured in the Spanish-American War and WWI. Bad Robot's JJ Abrams and Outlaw Productions’ Deborah Newmyer are producing.
