ATONEMENT director Joe Wright has joined Working Title's adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's THE LITTLE MERMAID, reports VARIETY. Abi Morgan (BRICK LANE) penned the script, influenced by a puppet rendition done by the The Little Angel Theater Company. While the story has been adapted for the screen several times before, this version will be the first live-action one in English.
