ART (Advanced Rendering Technology), a leading producer of ray-tracing and graphics technology, announced the appointments of Thomas Self as CFO and John Sims as VP of sales. Previously, Self served as CFO of San Jose-based MediaGate, a multi-national Internet software and hardware manufacturer. "Tom is joining the company at a time of growth and tremendous market opportunity for ART," said company CEO George Merrick. "All of us at ART are very pleased that Tom has joined us and welcome him aboard in his new role." As the new vice president of sales, Sims will handle all of ART's worldwide sales. Previously, he held senior sales posts at Lexra, Tektronix, Intergraph and Evans & Sutherland. "John's distinguished record of achievement in sales management, both at industry giants and start-ups, superbly qualifies him to lead and inspire ART's sales team," said Merrick.
