Pelling Leaves Cosgrove Hall Films

Iain Pelling, Cosgrove Hall Films md said he has decided to move on from the Manchester, U.K.-based animation company. Under his direction, the studio has become one of the leading animation companies in Europe. He spearheaded adding capabilities to the studio, including a CGI unit, Cosgrove Hall Digital, as well as new talent and better production management for its award-winning 2D and stop-frame production crews. Since he joined CHF in 1996, the studio has won three international and six national programming awards, plus one Childrens BAFTA and five BAFTA nominations.

"Given that CHF is successful and stable with a great creative team in place, and has a hit in ENGIE BENJY and a potential hit in THE INBREDS," Pelling said, "it seemed an appropriate time to move on. I am very proud to have had a part in creating such a strong and vibrant studio."

"Iain has skillfully brought Cosgrove Hall Films through some difficult times on the animation market," said John Whiston, CHF's director of drama, childrens, arts & features. Proclaiming the studio healthy, he said, "We are extremely grateful to Iain for what he has done for CHF in the past seven years and for the commitment he has shown to its future".

CHF (www.chf.co.uk) is in its 27 year of production and is 75% owned by Granada. Some of its other shows include DANGERMOUSE, CHORLTON AND THE WHEELIES, BILL AND BEN, ANDY PANDY, FETCH THE VET and ALBIE.
