Paul Grimshaw Joins The Orphanage

Paul Grimshaw, former executive producer of Industrial Light + Magic Commercial Productions (ILMCP), has joined San Francisco, California's The Orphanage as vice president and executive producer of the commercial and music video division. Grimshaw's mission includes developing the live-action component of the current business unit, with the goal of making the entire division a key player within the industry. Grimshaw will be assisted in this plan by John Benson, the executive producer for The Orphanage in Los Angeles. Benson established the L.A. office twelve months ago, landing several spots for clients such as Fox Sports, Nike and Taco Bell, as well as music videos for Warner Bros. and Epic Records. Also coming on board is Brent Novick as the West Coast and Midwest sales representative. Grimshaw was executive producer at ILMCP until it closed its doors in June 2002. He had been with ILM for eight years, beginning his career there as a computer graphics operations manager. He held roles as head of interactive production and head of commercial production before becoming the executive producer in 1999. During his tenure, the company completed work on spots such as First Union Bank, Gatorade, Budweiser and XM Satellite Radio. Prior to joining ILMCP, Grimshaw helmed and co-founded Santa Monica-based Calypso Films, a commercial production company. Before Calypso, Grimshaw worked at Dream Quest Images as executive producer.
