Pathe Picks Up Don't be Afraid of the Dark

Pathe International has picked up international rights to DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, reports Variety.

Pathe International has picked up international rights to DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, reports Variety. The film had been slated to hit theaters in the U.S. in January, but Disney decided not to release the Miramax production following the sale of the indie arm.

Troy Nixey directed with Guillermo Del Toro producing the remake of the 1973 TV movie. Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison star.

Written by Del Toro and Matthew Robbins adapted Nigel McKeand's original teleplay, the story follows a young girl who goes to live with her father and his new girlfriend and is plagued by creatures who live in their home.
