Pate Director Finds After.Life

Agnieszka Vosloo has been tapped by new production company Constellation Ent. to write and direct AFTER.LIFE, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

The story follows a young woman in limbo between life and death who fights to avoid being buried alive by the funeral director who holds her fate in his hands.

The supernatural thriller will be co-produced and co-financed by the Collective. Production is scheduled to begin in the winter.

"It's a thriller with a sensibility of a 21st century PSYCHO,'" Constellation president Brad Gilbert said. "It's both highly suspenseful and deeply moving."

Vosloo wrote, directed and produced the short film, PATE, which debuted at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival, going on to win several top jury prices at festivals nationwide.

"I think she's the next Roman Polanski," Gilbert said. " PATE was shocking and visually brilliant. It showed us that she was perfect for the film."

Two-time Oscar-nominee John Mathieson (GLADIATOR, KINGDOM OF HEAVEN) will serve as cinematographer.
