Kids' WB! kicks-off its new fall schedule with the early launch of the second season of the comedy-adventure OZZY & DRIX, premiering Saturday, August 23, 2003 (9:30 am ET/8:30 am PT). Based on the animated characters from the feature film OSMOSIS JONES, OZZY & DRIX is an animated inner-body buddy-cop comedy following the comedic adventures of white blood cell cop Ozzy and his partner, over-the-counter cold pill Drix, as they defend the City of Hector, which is the body of a 13-year-old boy. Ozzy and Drix investigate and combat colds, diseases and injuries from the real inside.
In the premiere episode, "Out Of Body Experience - Part 1," Ozzy is unexpectedly transferred out of Hector and into the body of his friend, Christine. Ozzy must quickly figure out a way to return to Hector, while trying to save Christine from the infamous Pneumoniac before his new environment changes his gender. The two-part episode concludes with "Out of Body Experience - Part 2," on August 30.
With their headquarters behind Hector's cornea, these partners have established their "private eye" agency... hoping to keep Hector safe from the many changes and dangers associated with adolescence. They know what really happens under "skin deep" and what it takes to always be on 24-hour alert - whether it be the sprouting of Hector's first whisker, a rowdy encounter with the Testosterone gang, an unexpected appendicitis attack or the long-awaited visit from Drix's Auntie Histamine.
Warner Bros. Animation has produced a well-paced, imaginatively designed premiere for the second season. The characters are creative with a contemporary look, while the environment is vividly colorful. Some of the look is retro and people from that era might find the frequent gender humor stereotypical.
In the coming season, this bod-squad will get a reality-check as Officer Maria Amino becomes a member of the team and Mayor Spryman continues his vain attempt to make Hector popular. Ozzy also will introduce everyone to his new navigational system - Backseat, a neurotic yet extremely funny know-it-all.
