Deal between CAKE and Discovery Italy finds new home for award-winning animated series.
LONDON – Kids’ entertainment specialist CAKE has announced a deal with Discovery in Italy for the multi award-winning Oscar’s Oasis, produced by French CGI animation studio TeamTO, Tuba Entertainment in Korea and CAKE and commissioned by TF1 France. The deal was finalized by CAKE’s senior sales manager Bianca Rodriguez, and will see Discovery Italy broadcasting the series this November on its free to air channel K2.
Oscar’s Oasis is a nonverbal CGI animated series full of action packed adventures starring Oscar, a lonely lizard who fights through an unforgiving desert terrain perpetually crossing paths with a seemingly endless horde of enemies. It often appears that Oscar can’t catch a break, despite all his best efforts to survive, to find water and above all, to avoid dying from boredom!
Aimed at 6-11-year-olds, Oscar’s Oasis won the best animated series at the 20th edition of the International Animation Festival of Brazil, Anima Mundi and the Prix du public award for best series at the Voix d'étoiles Festival (France). The series was also selected at Annecy and Cartoons on the Bay.
Oscar’s Oasis has been a hit with international audiences, airing on key channels around the world including Netflix US, Cartoon Network Latin America, Disney Asia, Australia and Benelux, Canal Once in Mexico, MBC Middle East and in Scandinavia on SVT in Sweden and MTV3 in Finland.
