Onyx Frontman Becomes Blade for TV

Da, da, da. Da, da, da let the boy be Blade. Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones has been cast as the half-vampire vampire killer Blade for the upcoming TV series, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Based on the comicbook and film franchise of the same name, the Spike TV series will continue the adventures of the Marvel superhero as he attempts to save the human race from a demonic underworld.

BLADE feature trilogy writer David Goyer is teaming with the comics author Geoff Johns to write the teleplay. Goyer will also exec produce along with Marvel's Avi Arad and Jim Rosenthal and Jon Kroll of New Line Television, which is producing. Bill McGoldrick and Lisa Ullmann will shepherd for Spike. The pilot is set to begin filming in Vancouver Nov. 14, 2005, and, if it should get picked up, the show would most likely debut June 2006.
