Om Nom Stories, the animated short films based on the award winning game Cut the Rope, heads to CITV.
ZeptoLab UK Limited and CITV announced that Om Nom Stories, the hit animated short films based on the award winning game Cut the Rope, is now airing on the CITV channel.
Om Nom Stories is a series of 1-2 minute animated adventures that follows the adventures of Om Nom, the star of the gaming app phenomenon Cut the Rope, who is a cute little monster who has an insatiable quest for candy!
The animated short films have already enjoyed over 100 million views globally on YouTube and are a big hit with the target audience of kids aged from 5-11. As well as CITV and YouTube, Gulli in France, Clan in Spain and Kaiser in Germany are airing the animated shorts on television or online.
Cut the Rope has firmly established itself as a global multi-channel entertainment and retail franchise, and the arrival of Om Nom on CITV is a massive boost not only for the game but also for the licensing programme. ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) manages the European licensing campaign for Cut the Rope, which already has over 50 licensees in Europe, with massive success in the UK for Vivid Imaginations’ Cut the Rope toy range.
Jamila Metran, Head of Programming, CITV, says, “We are delighted to be bringing Om Nom’s adventures to a TV audience in the UK for the first time. Om Nom Stories captures the wit, charm and fun of the game and the character in a series of delightful animated shorts that we hope our viewers will love."
Trudi Hayward, SVP, Head of Global Merchandising, ITV Studios Global Entertainment says, “The excitement and humour of the Cut the Rope game transfer perfectly to these animated shorts, which further underline the multimedia appeal of Om Nom. With a strong and growing presence on TV, the web, and at digital and physical retail, Cut the Rope is truly a brand for today.”
