O’Donnell Heads Creative Affairs at DIC

Kevin ODonnell joins DIC Entertainment in the newly created position of svp of creative affairs at DIC Entertainment. ODonnell, co-founder of Poets Road, a high-end development and multimedia production outfit, has moved his company to DIC headquarters in Burbank, California, and has been charged with overseeing concept and script development for all television programming. He will develop original properties for the U.S. programming block, The DIC Kids Network and for the companys international distribution pipeline to complement DICs ever-expanding library of animated programming.

ODonnell works directly with Andy Heyward, DIC ceo/chairman and Mike Maliani, DICs cco. ODonnells responsibilities will extend across all media as the company moves more aggressively into interactive entertainment as he leads DIC to create next generation CGI shows for the upcoming season, including STAN LEES SUPER SEVEN.

Kevins vast experience and fruitful history with DIC has made him the perfect candidate to take the company to the next creative level, stated Heyward. He has a keen insight, which is evidenced by his illustrious career, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to hold to a standard of quality in childrens entertainment as we develop and produce for a new generation.

O'Donnell collaborated with DIC on LIBERTYS KIDS, voiced by a roster of A-list talent (Dustin Hoffman, Whoopi Goldberg, Michael Douglas, Walter Cronkite, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver, Ben Stiller and more) and the animated hit series, SUPER DUPER SUMOS. He has produced and/or written numerous interactive games, scripts and interactive programming. O'Donnell co-created ADVENTURES OF HYPERMAN that merged television, science, gaming and the Internet for the first time, airing Saturday mornings on CBS. ODonnell began his production career at Dick Clark Productions.
