nWave Takes 50 Years to Go Around World in 3D

Brussels-based animation house nWave Pictures has begun work on its follow-up to FLY ME TO THE MOON, titled AROUND THE WORLD IN 50 YEARS -- 3D. FLY director Ben Stassen and writer Dominic Paris will reprise their same roles on the new film. nWave's Caroline Van Iseghem will produce alongside Illuminata Pictures' heads Paris, Gina Gallo and Mimi Maynard.

Beginning in 1959, a sea turtle sets out to travel the world and over his 50-year journey witnesses the effects of global warming. Actors signed on to voice characters include Anthony Anderson, Ed Begley Jr., Pat Carroll, Tim Curry, Kathy Griffin, Melanie Griffith, Stacy Keach and Jenny McCarthy.

nWave is financing the new film, which is set for release in 2009. FLY ME TO THE MOON will hit theaters in the U.S. on Aug. 8th.
