NVIDIA Expands Gelato Sales with International Resellers

NVIDIA has signed agreements with six companies to sell and support the NVIDIA Gelato 1.0 GPU-accelerated final-frame renderer. The companies are also authorized to sell bundles of NVIDIA Quadro FX professional graphics hardware with Gelato. The NVIDIA Gelato resellers are:

* 3VIS in Montreal and Eastern Canada (www.3vis.ca or www.3vis.com)* BB.TEK.INC in India (www.bbtekinc.com)* Helios|Oceana in Toronto and Central Canada (www.heloc.com)* Reality Computing Ltd. in the U.K. and Ireland (www.shopreality.com)* Snader and Associates in Northern California, Utah, and Nevada (www.snader.com)* XENON Systems Pty. Ltd. in Australia and New Zealand (www.xenon.com.au)

"Strong local customer support for Gelato is important to us and to our customers," said Beth Loughney, general manager of the Digital Film Group at NVIDIA. "Our first Gelato resellers were carefully chosen for their knowledge of the digital film industry and for their established, positive reputations in their geographies. We believe that our customers will be in good hands with them."

John Beritzhoff, president of Snader and Associates, said, "Adding Gelato to our product portfolio gives us the opportunity to bring hardware- accelerated rendering to our customer base. This will be a highly desirable feature for our users who are in constant pursuit of new ways to optimize productivity and visual quality."

"As specialists in digital content creation who started out serving the post and broadcast markets, we immediately recognized the potential of Gelato and agreed it was a 'must have' product for our tool box," said Paul Brown, managing director of Reality Computing Ltd. "Gelato is fully programmable and uses all the mainstream hardware advantages available, including floating point acceleration, a 64-bit architecture, PCI Express and multithreading technologies. Its unique feature of harnessing GPU power for hardware- acceleration is a major departure from traditional rendering. We're excited to bring Gelato to the U.K. and look forward to offering the DCC market a new generation of film rendering tools and services."

Gelato is now available for Red Hat Linux 7.2, 7.3, 9.0, and SUSE. A version for Microsoft Windows XP and a Maya plug-in for exporting to Gelato for both Windows XP and Linux is expected to ship later this month. Gelato is available immediately for purchase from NVIDIA's new regional resellers. To purchase Gelato in India, please email BB.TEK.INC at gelato@bbtekinc.com or call BB.TEK.INC at +91 20 25658618.
