Novel Entertainment Appoints Christopher Skala

Novel Entertainment welcomes Christopher Skala as a consultant to build the further success of the company's digital offerings.

Lucinda Whiteley and Mike Watts, owners of Novel Entertainment and producers of Horrid Henry for CITV and creators of The Fimbles and The Roly Mo Show for CBeebies, have announced that Christopher Skala is joining them as a consultant to build on the success of Novel Entertainment’s digital offerings.

Skala will work closely with the Novel team to explore opportunities across digital media for its key brands both in the UK and internationally.

Skala is Managing Director of his own company Skala Consultancy which specialises in content strategy, funding and development for digital and production companies and broadcasters. He was formerly Senior VP, Programming & TV Sales for Guinness World Records, where he was responsible for conceiving and commissioning Officially Amazing for CBBC (now in production on series three and a confirmed ratings success); Senior VP Programming & Productions for HIT Entertainment, where he was creatively responsible for properties including Thomas & Friends and Bob the Builder, and prior to that was Senior Producer at Tiger Aspect, where he oversaw the creation of Charlie and Lola and Animated Mr. Bean.

Commenting on his appointment, Chris Skala said, “I’m really pleased and proud to be working with Lucinda and Mike on such powerful and well loved character brands and delighted to have such a unique opportunity to help put these brands onto even more secure footings for the future.”

Mike Watts added, “Chris has an impressive track record in building major global brands and we think he will be a great asset to Novel as we take the next steps towards expanding our core digital business.”
