Leading animation production company, Not To Scale, are delighted to have signed the uber-talented US-based directors Elastic for European wide representation. Combining the outstanding talents of Brit Andy Hall, Irishman Patrick Murphy and all-star American Angus Wall (Academy Award winner 2011 no less), nothing is too much of a stretch for Elastic, whose flair and expertise takes in the entire spectrum of visual arts from editing, through 2D, CG animation, live action and all stops in between.
Inspired by a shared love of animated techniques and mixed media gained throughout their impressive careers, the Elastic boys have studio space in both L.A. and NYC and each director brings with them a history and understanding that influences their work and defines their craft. With additional support available from award-winning editors Rock Paper Scissors and A52 VFX, the Elastic team have complete technical and creative freedom, tapping into the pool of talent and unique resources for which these companies have become known worldwide. Elastic's most recent work is a suitably gorgeous piece of stop-frame meets CG animation for ice cream supremos Ben & Jerry's new campaign. "Inside a Pint" brings to life the story inside each carton of ice cream, perfectly visualising the brand's ethos with two meticulously crafted spots charmingly conveying the lovingly handmade message of Ben & Jerry's. Two "making of" films are also available, showing the journey from storyboards to fabulous finished articles for each spot - a day in the life of the brownie bakery and a cocoa-bean music festival, inspired by the US music and arts festival Bonnaroo, with both capturing the personality of Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Bonnaroo flavours!
EP and founder of Not To Scale, Dan O'Rourke adds, “Elastic are a great addition to our maturing roster and we’ve had great success with integrating our foreign based talent into the British and European market, arranging shoots for those Directors here and elsewhere and then managing the animation production remotely or here at our new Soho studio, depending on what each production requires.
