Chorion has signed two broadcast deals with Five in the U.K. and France 5 for the brand new series of preschool favorite NODDY.
Based on the book by Enid Blyton, which has continuously been in print since 1949, NODDY IN TOYLAND is currently in production and will broadcast respectively in spring and summer 2009 on Five's preschool block Milkshake! on Five and on Les Zouzous on France 5.
This new series highlights the evergreen nature of this much-loved property. The 52x11minute CGI series is being animated by the Academy Award-nominated Brown Bag Films with Ian Carney (SHAUN THE SHEEP and CHOP SOCKY CHOOKS) as head writer.
Chorion intends to build on the success of the previous series, which has been hugely popular worldwide, clocking up sales to more than 130 territories.
The latest NODDY series has a fresh new animated style, making the characters appear like real plush toys. Noddy is joined by an ensemble cast including Tessie Bear, Bumpy Dog, and new friend Whiz the Robot in a series of adventures which will focus on play and community.
NODDY turns 60 next year just as Chorion has recently signed a number of major licensing partners for the brand including NSR as master toy licensee, Spin Master as distributor in the U.K., Lansay in France and Bandai in Spain.
In November 2008, Chorion will kick off an extensive consumer and retail marketing campaign leading up to the 2009 debut of the brand new TV series along with a fresh and innovative toy range, and an engaging new live experience.
