No Fracture for Disturbia at the Box Office

Paramount/DreamWorks DISTURBIA (with vfx by Halon and Pacific Title) stayed on top of the box office chart for the weekend ended April 22, 2007, spying $13M for a two-week cume of $40.2M. Newcomer, FRACTURE, the thriller with Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling from New Line, bowed in second with $11M. Following in third with $7.67M was Paramount/DreamWorks BLADES OF GLORY. With vfx by Rainmaker Visual Effects, Digital Dimension, Image Engine, Gentle Giant Studios, Intrigue and Spectrum Effects, the ice-skating comedy now has a cume of $100.9M. Fourth place belonged to another newcomer, VACANCY, by Screen Gems, with $7.6M. Buena Vistas animated MEET THE ROBINSONS scored fifth with $6.9M and a tally of $82M. HOT FUZZ from Rogue Pictures, with vfx from Double Negative and Framestore CFC, scored $5.8M for a sixth place finish. Sony/Revolutions ARE WE DONE YET? settled for seventh with $5.1M and a cume of $39.5M. Warner Bros. IN THE LAND OF WOMEN debuted in eighth with $4.7M. Sony/Revolutions PERFECT STRANGER took ninth with $4.1M for a cume of $18M. The 10th spot went to Buena Vistas WILD HOGS, which added $2.8M to its tally of $156.1M.
