LONDON/NEW YORK –

Viacom has concluded a brand new agreement with leading European broadcaster, Televisión Española (TVE), that will see Nickelodeon’s reinvented comedy action adventure series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, air across the Spanish market. Announced by Caroline Beaton, Senior Vice President, International Programme Sales, the news comes ahead of the show’s official autumn 2012 international launch and underlines the power of the iconic franchise, as well as VIMN’s commitment to delivering fresh, pioneering, top quality content to audiences around the world.

Following a three-year deal with national Spanish broadcaster and long-term partner, TVE, children in Spain will be able to enjoy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Clan – the market’s biggest kids’ digital terrestrial channel – from May 2013.

“The signing of such a significant deal prior to the show’s official launch is indicative of the high level of interest we’ve seen for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from international clients, and is testament to the incredible strength of the brand,” commented Beaton.  “A property like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is every industry executive’s dream – it’s a hugely popular global franchise featuring iconic characters, which comes with an outstanding track record that our clients know they can trust to deliver strong ratings.”

Juan Ignacio Jiménez Gargantilla, Programme Acquisitions Director, TVE added: “From SpongeBob SquarePants to Victorious, Nickelodeon programming has always proved extremely popular with our audiences and we’re delighted to have already secured Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for our 2013 schedule.  We’re really looking forward to giving Spanish children around the country the opportunity to fall in love with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles all over again.”

Hotly anticipated and set to be cross-generational in its appeal, the all-new CG-animated television series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, debuts on Nickelodeon in the US and internationally from autumn 2012.  Spring 2013 sees the launch of a consumer products programme based on the pizza-loving, green heroes.  Long-standing toy partner Playmates Toys has already unveiled an impressive line of new products developed to support the refreshed series for international rollout from spring 2013, with a wider programme across further categories by additional partners set to be announced shortly.
