Nick's iCarly Hits Another All-Time High -- Proves More Popular than NBA

Press Release from Nickelodeon

NEW YORK, May 12 -- Nickelodeon's ICARLY took it to another level this week as the hour-long "iDate a Bad Boy" special (May 9, 8 p.m. ET/PT) was basic cable's overall top show among both sports and entertainment programming. ICARLY brought in 6.5 million total viewers (up +183% in delivery over last year's time period), which was +2% ahead of the number-two ranked basic cable program, the Los Angeles Lakers/Houston Rockets playoffs on TNT (Wednesday, May 6).

With triple-digit gains in every demo against both Nick's own time period average and direct programming competition from other networks, ICARLY helped fuel another winning week win for Nickelodeon in the TV arena.

ICARLY's "iDate a Bad Boy" far and away ranks as the week's top telecast on basic cable with kids and tweens; and the program was first with total viewers, averaging 6.5 million P2+.

-- With K2-11, ICARLY averaged a 9.5/3.3 million K2-11, up +164% in rating and +174% in delivery over last year's time period.-- Among K6-11, the show averaged a 12.9/2.7 million K6-11, up +187% in rating and delivery. Tween ratings were especially strong, garnering a 12.8/2.8 million T9-14--up +246% in rating and +250% in delivery.

-- ICARLY's total viewer delivery of 6.5 million represents a year-ago increase of +183%, moving it past the NBA Playoffs to rank as basic cable's top program of the week.

ICARLY's "iDate a Bad Boy" handily bested direct time-period competition with all kids, tweens and total viewer demos.

-- From 8 to 8:30 p.m., ICARLY's ratings were +167% greater than the next-closest kids' competitor's in kids 2-11, +198% greater in K6-11, +216% greater with tweens and +166% better with total viewers.

-- From 8:30 - 9 p.m., ICARLY's ratings ranged from +292% to +452% stronger across every demo against that time period's closest competitor.

THE PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR -- in under two months on the air -- is a top program with kids on all of broadcast and cable television; and is currently the number-two animated show with kids and total viewers -- only behind SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS for the quarter to date. On Saturday, May 9, at 10 a.m. ET/PT, THE PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR delivered more than 2 million kids 2-11.
