Nickelodeon's Shocktober Treats Kids To Spooky New Thrills

This month, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and sister networks Nicktoons Network and NOGGIN are treating kids to spooky marathons and chill-filled new episodes of their favorite hit shows. Additionally, two of Nickelodeon's kids' websites, Nick.com and Nicktropolis, will feature new Halloween-themed online games to complement "Shocktober" programming.

Nickelodeon's "Shocktober" programming will have kids on the edge of their seats from Saturday, October 25 to Friday, October 31, with marathons of Halloween-themed programming of hit series THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, BACK AT THE BARNYARD, ICARLY, THE NAKED BROTHERS BAND, DRAKE & JOSH, among others.

On Saturday, October 25, at 10:30 a.m. (ET/PT) Nickelodeon will premiere a brand-new episode of THE MIGHTY B! During the week of October 27, Nickelodeon will present nightly back-to-back primetime Halloween-themed episodes from 8-9 p.m. (ET/PT).

Nick Jr. will treat tots to new Halloween-themed episodes of GO, DIEGO, GO!, NI HAO, KAI-LAN, and WOW! WOW! WUBBZY! during the week of October 27. On Friday, October 31, Nick Jr. will air a Halloween marathon from 9 a.m-2 p.m. (ET/PT) with spooky episodes of preschool favorites including: THE BACKYARDIGANS, DORA THE EXPLORER, GO, DIEGO, GO!, MAX & RUBY, YO GABBA GABBA!, and THE WONDER PETS!

NOGGIN, Nickelodeon's 24-hour, commercial-free, educational network for preschoolers, will also premiere a new mysterious episode of PINKY DINKY DOO on Sunday, October 26, at 3 p.m. (ET) during a day-long "Spooky Scary Halloween" marathon.

Nicktoons Network will unveil ghoulish treats when the network begins airing back-to-back episodes of the classic Nickelodeon series ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK? (1991-1996) every night from 8-9 p.m. (ET), from Monday, October 20, through Friday, October 31. On Friday, October 31, Nicktoons Network will spook kids with werewolves, vampires and zombies on new episodes of RICKY SPROCKET: SHOWBIZ BOY, EL TIGRE: THE ADVENTURES OF MANNY RIVERA and THREE DELIVERY during an all-day Halloween themed marathon from 6 a.m. until 2 a.m.

Kids can log on to Nickelodeon's scream-themed mini-site -- http://www.nick.com/shocktober2 -- featuring scary games and videos for Halloween. Kids can participate in the MAKING FIENDS: FIEND CREATOR online kids' game, based on Nicktoons Network's brand-new series MAKING FIENDS, which debuted October 4. Kids can build their own custom fiends that they can print, send to a friend or submit online for a chance to appear on air from October 25 - 31.

The site will also introduce two new games for Halloween, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: DASTARDLY DIRTY TREATS where gamers must help SpongeBob defend himself and his sugar-coated treats against his nemesis, Dirty Bubble and BACK AT THE BARNYARD CREEPY CANDY CRAZE where gamers must hide their candy from Vampire-Otis before the sun rises.

Throughout October, Nick's virtual world, Nicktropolis will transform its Downtown into a haunted destination featuring a Haunted House, Dracula's Lair, and The Mummy's Tomb. Kids can visit a The Pumpkin Patch and pick one to put in their personalized rooms, visit the costume shop Wear 'N Scare to swap cool costumes for their avatars, or play a brand a multiplayer game as team werewolf or vampire, with a goal of persuading the other species to join their team.

Nick Jr.'s website NickJr.com will feature a brand-new kids' game to celebrate Halloween. Preschoolers can go online and play the BACKYARDIGANS TRICK OR TREAT GAME and dress-up the BACKYARDIGANS in spooky and silly costumes. Parents can get step-by-step instructions for making Nick Jr. Halloween costumes and Jack-o'-lanterns, plus dozens of Halloween-themed kids activities, kids coloring pages, crafts and more.
