Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship Extends Its Deadline

Nickelodeon Writing FellowshipAugust 1, 2005Deadline: April 29, 2005

Nickelodeon Productions is continuing its search for new creative talent with the Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship Program, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for writers to work full-time developing their craft at Nickelodeon. Now aspiring writers have a few extra days to get their forms filled out and their samples in. The application deadline has been extended to April 29, 2005.

The program, which includes fellowships in live-action and animation television, stems from Nickelodeons commitment to encouraging meaningful participation from culturally and ethnically diverse new writers. Nickelodeon Productions will provide a conditional three-tiered salaried position for up to one year, tentatively scheduled to begin in September 2005.

No previous writing experience is necessary. Applicants must submit a single (non-returnable) copy of a writing sample, a one-page writing and work history resume and a complete application form. Appropriate animation samples include an 11- or 30-minute script based on a current animated television series. An emphasis on comedy is recommended. Only one writing sample will be accepted for each applicant.

Materials will not be accepted after the application dates. Finalists will be notified by telephone in August 2005 while all others will be notified by mail by the end of October 2005. The fellowship is open to domestic applicants only. The applications forms and more information are available online at www.nickwriting.com.
