Nickelodeon Latin America Doubles Kappa Mikey Reach to Latin American Households

Nickelodeon Latin America announced today (May 18, 2007) it has closed several key broadcast deals for KAPPA MIKEY, the channel's first anime series created and produced entirely in the U.S., by Animation Collective.

Deals for the series include partnerships with Artear Channel 13 (Argentina), Antenna Latina 7 (Dominican Republic), Medcom (Panama), Megavision (Chile), Compañia Televisora Honduras (Honduras) and Teleamazonas (Ecuador), representing 17.6 million television households throughout broadcast television in Latin America , in addition to the 18.5 million cable households that enjoy the program through Nickelodeon Latin America.

"These partnerships are a great opportunity for Nickelodeon to enhance exposure of its hit properties in the region," said, Adeline Delgado, vp, international programming sales for MTV Networks Latin America. "The response from our broadcasters has been amazing and we are excited to partner with them and offer unique and innovative programming like KAPPA MIKEY to complement their children's programming grids."

Done in Flash, the series is written like a sitcom and the story contains a show within a show. Each episode takes place on and off the set of LilyMu, a fictional Japanese TV series starring once-struggling American actor, Mikey Simon, as he adjusts to his new role as Kappa Mikey, the biggest anime star Japan has ever seen.

KAPPA MIKEY can be seen in all Nickelodeon markets worldwide and is dubbed in more than 10 different languages.
