In anticipation of the film’s release on Friday, Focus Features has released a final web trailer for the LAIKA stop-motion animated “ParaNorman” 3D feature.

In anticipation of the film’s release on Friday, Focus Features has released a final web trailer for the LAIKA stop-motion animated ParaNorman 3D feature. ParaNorman, directed by Sam Fell (Flushed Away, The Tale of Despereaux) and Chris Butler (who also wrote the screenplay), is the story of an outsider, Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), who can talk to dead people. Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad) also voice the film.

The trailer shows a ghost telling Normanthat he must be the one to stop an evil witch from returning from the Great Beyond to raise a ruckus on the anniversary of her death. It not only sets an eerie tone with creepy music, it gives one more good glimpse of the flawless stop-motion animation:

ParaNorman, the second full-length stop-motion feature from Laika, opens in the U.S. on August 17, 2012.
