New Land Before Time DVD Marks 15th Anniversary of Blockbuster Franchise

With the Dec. 2, 2003 release of THE LAND BEFORE TIME: THE GREAT LONGNECK MIGRATION Universal Studios Home Video celebrates the 15th anniversary of this billion-dollar direct-to-video animation franchise. THE GREAT LONGNECK MIGRATION ($24.98) marks the 10th installment of the children's dinosaur saga, which began with the beloved theatrical feature directed by Don Bluth and exec produced by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. By the way, THE LAND BEFORE TIME has also been reissued on DVD in a special anniversary edition (also priced at $24.98) featuring an interactive, narrated feature highlighting memorable events from the franchise; four sing-a-longs; and DVD-Rom activities such as dinosaur games from the Jurassic Park Institute.

THE GREAT LONGNECK MIGRATION, winner of the 2003 Parent's Choice Recommended Award, follows the continuing tales of five young dinosaur pals, as Littlefoot and his grandparents share an unusual "sleep story," which mysteriously guides them to a distant land. Kiefer Sutherland, Bernadette Peters and James Garner turn in voice work, with original songs ("Best of Friends") performed by Olivia Newton-John.

Value-added features include "Read-along with Lightfoot," "Littlefoot's Lab: Spanish 101," which teaches kids how to count in English and Spanish and "The Great Circle Game," an interactive learning activity about eclipses.

THE GREAT LONGNECK MIGRATION is produced by Universal Cartoon Studios, which is a division of Universal Home Entertainment Prods.
