BRB announces the writing team for Filly Funtasia, a new animated show based on Dracco’s Filly brand.
It’s not a horse – it’s a Filly! There’s a magical world of difference between them. In fact, this is apparent from the first steps of Filly Funtasia, the new animated series based on the famous Filly brand from Dracco. The series has just added the finishing touches to its scriptwriting team with the addition of renowned figures from USA cartoon sitcom fame, including: Dean Stefan (The Penguins of Madagascar, The Octonauts, Jake & The Never Land Pirates), Noelle Wright (Doc McStuffins, Sofia The First), Jymn Magon (Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures) and Johnny Hartmann (Monster High), all of whom are already hard at work on new episodes alongside award-winning Sean Derek (The Smurfs, ZhuZhu Pets, Strawberry Shortcake, Sabrina, Hello Kitty).
Created in High-Def and aimed at a family audience, Filly Funtasia (26 x 30”) is a “leap to the small screen” for a truly powerful brand that is guaranteed to be a huge success. Filly is the Number 1 girls license in Germany, with 60 million collectable figurines sold and distributed in many EMEA countries by Master Toy Company Simba Dickie Group. The toy line comprises 9 collections and over 200 different figures, which feature Swarovski elements and golden crowns. The cartoon series will feature Rose, a Filly Unicorn who has just arrived at a new school in the Kingdom of Funtasia. This however, is no ordinary school, this is The Academy of Magic, where the most talented young Fillys of every kingdom go to improve their magical skills. From learning how to mix unpredictable potions, cast spectacular spells, or mastering the finer points of her magic mirror, Rose will also have to deal with everyday teenage school life. The young Unicorn will be faced with making new friends, doing homework and magical chores while learning about her teachers, classmates, magic and more, while above all finding the “fun” in Funtasia.
The Filly Funtasia trailer, which generated a true expectation at the last edition of the MIPTV fair in Cannes where it was first presented, produced a kind of tingle about the spectacular nature of the TV Series that is set to premier worldwide next year. BRB Internacional distributes Filly Funtasia worldwide, except in Germany (Dracco), and manages the rights to the Filly brand in Spain and Portugal.
