Perky Pickle Studios, a new full-service animation studio has launched in Burbank, California. Helmed by award-winning animation filmmaker Jordan Reichek, Perky Pickle will offer a variety of animation techniques including 2D traditional, 3D and Flash. Said Reichek, "Top talent with strong leadership and financial responsibility are the cornerstones of the Perky Pickle Studio mantra. With this idea, we hope to provide a creative haven for our clients and employees." The studio has already partnered with artist Robt. Williams to develop his bizarre artwork into animated properties. Along with R. Crumb, Williams was one of the founding artists of Zap Comics. Reichek and Williams previously collaborated on DREAM DETECTIVE, a Flash animated series currently airing on iFilm.com. In addition, the studio is developing KOZMIX, a CG animated children's series created by Reichek and pop surrealist Kenny Scharf. Reichek and Scharf recently teamed to complete the 30-minute special THE GROOVENIANS, set to air on Cartoon Network on November 10, 2002 at 10:30 pm, as part of the network's Adult Swim block. Prior to THE GROOVENIANS, Reichek produced and directed the pilot episode of INVADER ZIM, which received the award for Best Pilot or TV Special at the 2000 Annecy International Animation Festival. In addition, he served as producer and director on the series BABY HUEY for Universal Animation and also worked at Spumco on the award-winning series REN AND STIMPY. Reichek is currently in development on an original Cartoon Network pilot entitled CAT SHOW. For more information about Perky Pickle Studios, visit their Website www.perkypickle.com.
