Nemo Nets Hollywood Movie of the Year Award Nomination

NEMO is swimming up the stream of nominees for the 2003 Hollywood Movie of the Year Awards to be held Oct. 20, 2003 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. The Hollywood Film Festival's board of advisors announced the nominations in all categories, which are available at www.hollywoodfilmfestival.com.

Nemo director Andrew Stanton is competing against DIRTY PRETTY THINGS by Stephen Frears, LOST IN TRANSLATION by Sofia Coppola, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL by Gore Verbinski and SEABISCUIT by Gary Ross.

A blue ribbon committee of established Hollywood professionals selected the five award nominees in each category. Winners will be chosen by film fans at voting polls at the Yahoo! Movies Website (http://movies.yahoo.com/movieawards) and at ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT'S Website (http://etonline.com/).

The festival will also present special honors at the Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony to visual effects artist John Gaeta and Stanton for animation. Other honorees include: Columbia Pictures chairman Amy Pascal, director Ron Howard, actor Anthony Hopkins, actress Goldie Hawn, producer Sydney Pollack, actor Orlando Bloom, actress Scarlett Johansson, screenwriter Ron Bass, cinematographer John Toll, editor Michael Kahn, composer Howard Shore, songwriter David Foster, costume designer Ann Roth, production designer William J. Creber and casting director Deborah Aquila.

The awards are part of the 2003 Annual Hollywood Film Festival that takes place from October 15 to 20, and will showcase a selection of prestigious domestic and international feature films, shorts, documentaries and animation. The venues include the Arclight Cinemas for the "Hollywood Film Conference" and "Hollywood Film Screenings" and the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the "Hollywood Awards."
