Nelvana To Produce New Episodes of Grossology, Di-Gata

Nelvana Enterprises has announced that it is producing 26 new episodes each of the animated series GROSSOLOGY and DI-GATA DEFENDERS. Both shows have developed a growing international fan base, which has helped to fuel the demand for additional episodes.

The first cycle of GROSSOLOGY sold to broadcasters including Discovery Kids in Canada and the U.S., YTV and Societe Radio Canada in Canada, Jetix in the U.K., BVI in Mexico and Latin America, TFI in France, Mediaset in Italy, Nickelodeon in Germany and Benelux, ABC in Australia and MNET in South Africa. The quirky detective series is targeted to kids 6-10 and is produced by Nelvana Studios. The merchandise program for the property is set to launch in 2008, with Upper Deck Europe BV as the master-toy partner in EMEA territories.

DI-GATA DEFENDERSâ first cycles were bought by Jetix in the U.K., Nickelodeon and TF1 in France, Raisat in Italy, RTL2 in Germany, Cartoon Network in Australia and Latin America, 4Kids Ent. in the U.S., Televisa in Mexico and TELETOON in Canada, which began airing the new episodes in September. RTL2 has acquired the new cycle as well. Also aimed at kids 6-10, the series is produced by Nelvana Studios and LuxAnimation.

Spin Master Ltd. has developed a unique line of dice games replicating the battles from DI-GATA DEFENDERS, with rollout scheduled in multiple markets throughout 2007 and 2008. TF1 Licences is the merchandise agent in France and Upper Deck Europe BV is the toy lineâs distributor in Germany. Game Factory will launch a Nintendo DSTM title mid-October in Canada and Europe.
