DreamWorks Animation has announced plans to release SHREK THE MUSICAL on DVD, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

During a financial results call with analysts, CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said the project was filmed less than two weeks ago and that it will be released in "unique packaging," without revealing much more.

The Broadway run ends Jan. 3, but the company expects a tour to commence domestically and internationally.
