Black Dog Films has announced the signing of directors Casper Balslev and Julian Acosta to their roster of cutting-edge talent, including Jake Scott, Ben Mor and Declan Whitebloom.

Casper Balslev is a Danish director and photographer. After completing his studies in photojournalism at the Danish School of Journalism, Balslev worked in documentary photography, capturing images for fashion, portrait, and advertising photography. His unembellished style and keen eye for design quickly paved the way to success within the music video industry, with credits including videos for Marina and the Diamonds, The Presets, Fenech Soler, Oh My, and Ladyhawke.

Julian Acosta was born and raised in California where he was heavily influenced by punk rock. After getting a taste of film during college, he took his signature poetic realist style to the music video world, directing projects for Passion Pit, Nero, Ellie Goulding, Leonard Cohen, and M.I.A., to name but a few and has received critical acclaim for his live concert video direction. His latest work includes "Bait and Switch" for The Shins which premiered on Pitchfork on March 2nd.

Black Dog Films is pleased to welcome Balslev and Acosta to the Black Dog family.  Recent Black Dog work includes Katy Perry’s The One That Got Away, directed by Floria Sigismondi and Florence And The Machine’s Shake It Out directed by Dawn Shadforth.
