MTV Int’l & MTV 2 Airs Happy Tree Friends Holiday Special

MTV International and is making the holidays merrier by airing a HAPPY TREE FRIENDS half-hour holiday special produced by Mondo Media Productions. HAPPY TREE FRIENDS WINTER BREAK is running exclusively on 15 participating MTV Intl channels from Dec. 10-30, 2004. MTV 2 (U.S.) just came on board to air the holiday special six times, commencing Dec. 24.

The special features three brand-new holiday-themed episodes debuting exclusively for the MTV special plus existing winter-themed episodes. Fans will enjoy last years Christmas hit CLASS ACT, the icy-chilling SNOW WHAT and TONGUE TWISTER, as well as the hysterical Christmas Kringles animated greeting cards. All MTV International channels currently airing the HAPPY TREE FRIENDS animated shorts will be airing the holiday special, including MTVs various European, Latin American and Asian channels.

MTV Intl is the first broadcaster to air HAPPY TREE FRIENDS, which had already become an underground cult hit online, thanks to its three DVDs and an expanding line of licensed products sold at major music retailers around the world. Starring a host of adorable animated forest animals that face a gauntlet of eye-popping calamities, the adult-targeted HAPPY TREE FRIENDS airs on all channels outside the U.S. and Japan, and garners an international household reach approaching more than 350 million.
