Mr. X Announces Creative Services Consolidation And Expansion In Toronto

September 8, 2011- Toronto, Canada - MR. X INC. today announced a company restructuring and consolidation plan intended to help the company achieve its goal of emerging as one of the world’s top players in visual effects and animation. The company’s site in Toronto will continue to serve as it’s headquarters and centre for feature film visual effects production while operations in Montreal will be scaled back and eventually closed.

“We are expanding our operations in Toronto and investing over $1Million CDN to keep pace with the demand for our services,” says MR. X founder and President, Dennis Berardi. “It’s an exciting time and we are fortunate as a company to be in a position where we are making investments in our infrastructure in this turbulent economic climate. Our plan focuses resources and talent in Toronto where we now employ 130 world class artists, technicians, coordinators and operational staff.”

Montreal equipment and staff will be moved to Toronto. Employees who do not wish to make the transition will be offered generous severance packages. “The consolidation of our operations in Toronto is by no means a reflection on the talented team of artists at MR. X in Montreal. Rather, this is a strategic move which merges our investments and cost structure to ensure for long term stability and growth of the company.”

MR. X specializes in feature film animation and visual effects. Recently completed work includes The Thing (Universal Pictures) and The Three Musketeers (Summit Entertainment) which hits theatres in North America on October 21st. New projects include Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (Sony), Cosmopolis (Prospero Pictures), The Twillight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Summit Entertainment), Pacific Rim (Legendary Pictures) and Resident Evil: Retribution (Screen Gems), Mama (Universal Pictures).
