Mr. Men Go Back To Reading Books

Chorion, Penguin Group (USA) Inc. and Egmont U.K. Ltd have created a comprehensive TV tie-in publishing program to support the new hit television series THE MR. MEN SHOW.

First came Roger Hargreaves' original MR. MEN AND LITTLE MISS books, one of the best-selling book series of all time, with more than 100 million copies sold worldwide since it was originally published in the 1970s. Inspired by this book series, THE MR. MEN SHOW, the new hit television series, debuted earlier this year on Cartoon Network in the U.S., Five's Milkshake! in the U.K. and, most recently, France 5 and the ABC in Australia.

Now, Price Stern Sloan, a division of Penguin Young Readers Group and Egmont U.K. are turning the TV show into a range of books that capture the fresh and distinctive slapstick humor and verbal wit of the television show.

The Penguin Group (USA) Inc. has world English language publishing rights to the MR. MEN AND LITTLE MISS and THE MR. MEN SHOW and will once again collaborate with Egmont, the UK and Commonwealth publisher of MR. MEN AND LITTLE MISS, to develop a comprehensive TV tie-in publishing program. Both publishing houses will be one-stop shops for the franchise, offering the classic and TV tie-in book ranges. In spring 2009 THE MR. MEN SHOW books program will be launched with 8X8s, readers, Sticker Stories, and other formats.

In Australia, Penguin will publish books for THE MR. MEN SHOW, which debuted in mid-July on ABC.

The TV series features a cast of 25 characters, and introduces some new faces such as the jetpack-wearing Little Miss Daredevil who joins favorites such as Mr. Bump, Mr. Tickle and Little Miss Sunshine. Dillydale is home to this comic assortment, where personality clashes and crazy career choices ensure that life is never dull.
