Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise and Edwin Hodge will join MGM/UA's RED DAWN, notes the HollywoodReporter
The RED DAWN reboot updates the1984 original, following teens that form a defensive alliance when their town is invaded. Chinese and Russian soldiers lead the invasion, this time around.
Hutcherson will play the group's tech geek, Lucas portrays the head cheerleader and Cruise has been cast as the mayor’s son. Hodge will play the cool high school football jock. The cast will endure rigorous military training.
Dan Bradley is set to direct from a screenplay by Jeremy Passmore and Carl Ellsworth. Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson (Contrafilms) are producing under Exec. Producers Vince Newman and Kevin Halloran. Shooting begins next month in Detroit, MI.
RED DAWN is slated for a Sept 2010 theatrical release.
