Press Release from Moonscoop
Moonscoop, and Warner Home Video Spain announce a home entertainment deal which will see DVD and video rights for all seasons of animated titles CODE LYOKO and SAMSAM distributed by Warner Home Video in Spain.
Lionel Marty, President, Worldwide Sales at Moonscoop said: "We're delighted to be partnering again with Warner Home Video for these series in Spain. We have received a large number of DVD and video requests from kids and parents alike, so we're delighted to conclude a deal which will see these hit the shelves and extend our brand offering for fans."
Olivier Wolff, MD and Vice President, Warner Home Video Spain and Italy added "As market leader, we are constantly seeking to reinforce our portfolio of products with innovative new franchises. We have a long-standing and successful partnership with Moonscoop and we are excited to bring these great series, SamSam and Code Lyoko, to Spanish kids and their families."
International hit CODE LYOKO, produced by Moonscoop with France 3 and Canal J, is scoring excellent ratings in Spain, where it airs on Clan TVE and Cartoon Network. The 97 x 26' show, which uses a dynamic mix of 2D and 3D animation, targets kids six and older and has also sold to broadcasters all over the world.
CODE LYOKO blends action and adventure and a swift pace with rich graphics and issues for today's kids. Our planet Earth and the parallel universe called Lyoko face the threat of annihilation. A super virus has infected the central processing units in X.A.N.A and only four kids can foil the mad computer's evil designs! Yumi, Ulrich, Odd and Jeremy lead doubles lives: ordinary students in their early teens by day, action heroes in the virtual digital world.
Preschool 3D-animated HD SAMSAM (52x6'30"), produced by Bayard Jeunesse Animation, follows the adventures of the smallest of heroes!
For a hero, he doesn't quite yet have super powers. But it doesn't mean he can't fly his own SamSaucer into space or can't deal with dirty-rotten monsters! Sometimes he does need a little help from his cuddly SamTeddy, SamMummy or SamDaddy, as well as his friends. And granted, sometimes, using his noggin and a bit of imagination gets the work done, too. The series is based on the successful comic-book series of the same name and is a popular show in Spain where it airs on TV Catalunya and Boomerang.
