Press Release from Moonscoop
PARIS, 22 September 2010. Moonscoop, one of the leading worldwide kids’ distribution, brand management and entertainment companies, has significantly the increased presence of its animated shows in Asia signing deals for over 170 half hours of programming with key broadcasters in the region.
In Korea, EBS has acquired two shows including Chloe’s Closet and Geronimo Stilton, while Nickelodeon has signed A Town Called Panic. In Taiwan, public channel PTS has picked up SamSam season 2 having previously acquired rights to season one and home video, and Christian channel Good TV has bought Toddworld. In Malaysia, Ava Riko Teo has sold to Astro Chinese channel, which already airs Dive Olly Dive, SamSam and ToddWorld, and Indonesia’s leading terrestrial channel PT Indosiar has snapped up Moonscoop duo Pet Alien and Dive Olly Dive season two.
These new deals in Asia follow a significant package deal to Chutti TV, Sun TV’s kids channel in India earlier this year, which saw Chutti acquiring 725 half-hours of programming from the Moonscoop catalogue.
Lionel Marty, President Worldwide Sales at Moonscoop said: “Asia is proving to be a key market for our shows, with sales across our library negotiated by Grace Lee, our VP of sales for Asia. These deals show both our established series and recent shows are attracting new broadcasters and we hope this is a platform for more sales in the region later this year.”
