Moonscoop Continues To Hit The Mark In Asia

Moonscoop, one of the leading worldwide kids’ distribution, brand management and entertainment companies, has boosted the presence of its shows in Asia securing further sales for its animated shows following the Asia Television Forum in Singapore last month.

Paris, 18 January 2011. Moonscoop, one of the leading worldwide kids’ distribution, brand management and entertainment companies, has boosted the presence of its shows in Asia securing further sales for its animated shows following the Asia Television Forum in Singapore last month.

In Thailand, Truevisions has acquired Gasp and The DaVincibles, while public channel PBS has signed Chloe’s Closet and SamSam season 2. In Malaysia, NTV 7 has picked up Geronimo Stilton and The DaVincibles as well as renewing The Fantastic Four. Indonesia’s PT Crown Entertainment has bought Hero:108 TV and home video rights, while Taiwan’s leading kids channel yoyo tv and Korean IPVOD channel KTH have both picked up Chloe’s Closet. In a further deal, Hong Kong IPVOD channel PCCW has also bought season one of Dive Olly Dive for their NOW TV network.

Moonscoop significantly increased the presence of its animated shows in Asia at the end of last year when it signed deals for over 170 half hours of programming with key broadcasters in the region.

In Korea, EBS has acquired two shows including Chloe’s Closet and Geronimo Stilton, while Nickelodeon Korea has signed A Town Called Panic (20x5’). In Taiwan, public channel PTS has picked up SamSam season 2 having previously acquired rights to season one and home video, and Christian channel Good TV bought Toddworld (52x11’). In Malaysia, Ava Riko Teo (65x7’) has sold to Astro Chinese channel, which already airs Dive Olly Dive, SamSam and ToddWorld, and Indonesia’s leading terrestrial channel PT Indosiar has snapped up Moonscoop duo Pet Alien season one and Dive Olly Dive season two.

These deals in Asia followed a significant package deal to Chutti TV, Sun TV’s kids channel in India earlier in 2010, which saw Chutti acquiring 725 half-hours of programming from the Moonscoop catalogue. All deals in Asia were negotiated by Moonscoop’s VP of Sales, Grace Lee.

We are very pleased to be continuing this momentum in 2011 by kicking off the New Year with a slate of new sales to Asian platforms.”
