Montréal Stop-Motion Fest Issues 2016 Call for Entries

Deadline for submissions is June 30; eighth edition of the festival to be held September 16-18.

Montreal, QC -- The Festival Stop Motion Montréal has announced the official opening of its call for entries for the upcoming 8th edition of the Festival, which will take place September 16, 17 and 18, 2016. The deadline for film entries is June 30, 2016.

Motivated by the success of its 2015 edition and the growing eagerness of the public to come celebrate stop motion animation in Montréal; the Festival organization is fully refueled with energy and news ideas in preparation for its 8th edition. Also, to demonstrate its desire to reinvent itself and embrace its future, the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival has changed its name to Festival Stop Motion Montréal.

Started in 2009, Festival Stop Motion Montréal is the world’s first festival dedicated exclusively to films made using stop motion animation. Last year’s festival screened over 80 films in competition and hosted its second sold-out master class with Canadian filmmaker Cordell Barker, with his first foray in stop motion animation with the film, If I Was God.

The Festival will continue to offer family-friendly stop motion workshops, guest lectures from experts in the field as well as the very best stop motion films from around the world.
