Mondo TV Acquires Stake in Igel Media

Italys Mondo TV Group has acquired a 30.3% stake in German media company IGEL MEDIA AG. The agreement is contingent upon the approval of IGEL MEDIA AGs supervisory board. Under the terms of the deal, Mondo will receive 1,000,000 shares of IGEL. In addition to Mondo TVs acquisition, a commercial agreement has been signed between the two companies in which IGEL will take over Mondos European distribution of over 300 hours of animated productions including JESUS, THE KINGDOM WITHOUT FRONTIERS, THE SUPER HEROES and LUPO ALBERTO for all territories except Italy. According to Stefan Draegert, IGEL CEO, "This is a wonderful move for the future worldwide growth of both IGEL MEDIA and Mondo TV. Both are exciting companies with a fantastic product and this will undoubtedly prove to be a positive move which will compliment each companys strengths." Mondos president, Orlando Corradi, remarked "This is a thrilling time for both companies. Mondo TV is one of the best European animation producers and with IGEL MEDIA placed as one of the top distributors of European animation, I believe we will have a winning alliance for the future." Based in Rome, Mondo TV S.P.A., produces and distributes animated series and full-length animated features for the theatrical and television markets, as well as a number of related sectors including audiovisual and musical distribution, multimedia, merchandising and e-commerce. Based in Hamburg, IGEL MEDIA DISTRIBUTION is the international distribution and development division of IGEL MEDIA AG, which acquires, co-produces and co-finances animation, family and factual programming for the international market.
